Yerson Mosquera - knee
Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Yerson Mosquera (23) is currently sidelined for the remainder of the 2024/25 season after suffering a severe knee injury.
The Colombian international sustained the injury during Wolves' 3-1 Premier League victory over Fulham on 22 September 2024. Mosquera was forced off the pitch in the 82nd minute after landing awkwardly during a defensive challenge. Manager Gary O'Neil expressed immediate concern over the severity of the issue, stating:

Subsequent medical examinations revealed that Mosquera had sustained extensive ligament damage, tearing both his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL). On 9 October 2024, Mosquera underwent successful knee surgery. The club's head of medical services, Phil Hayward, confirmed the positive outcome, stating:

Following the operation, Mosquera began the early stages of rehabilitation. He was initially required to rest at home for a week before returning to the club’s facilities to commence his recovery programme.
ACL and MCL injuries typically require a recovery period of 9 to 12 months, depending on the player’s response to treatment and rehabilitation. As a result, Mosquera is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
If his recovery progresses without complications, the defender could be fit in time for pre-season training in the summer of 2025. However, Wolves are expected to take a cautious approach to avoid the risk of re-injury. (Source: BBC Sport)
