Gustavo Nunes - back
Brentford forward Gustavo Nunes (19) has been struggling with a stress fracture in his lower back since September 2024. Initially thought to be a minor setback, Brentford manager Thomas Frank revealed in December that the injury had not healed as expected. Given Nunes’ young age, the club decided to take a cautious approach, focusing on a gradual recovery rather than rushing him back. (Source: Sam Tabuteau, Hounslow Herald)
By January 2025, Nunes had yet to return to pitch training. However, on 7 March, Frank confirmed that he had begun running again. A week later, he took another step forward by rejoining team training, though he is still not fit for competitive matches. (Source: Borough of Hounslow Herald)
Nunes will continue his rehabilitation during the international break, with hopes of making his return for Brentford’s clash against Newcastle on 2 April. However, no official comeback date has been set. (Source: Hounslow Herald, Brentford FC)
Update Tuesday 1 April 2025
Aaron Hickey, Rico Henry and Gustavo Nunes will "hopefully" play before the end of the season. Newcastle is too soon for any of them. Rico is "furthest ahead" out of the trio. (Source: Sam Tabuteau, The Borough of Hounslow Herald)
Thomas Frank says Gustavo Nunes has a minor stress fracture and won't be available for a few weeks. Maintains it's a minor injury, though, and he'll be ready to contribute soon.
